Let's do this:

-I sing. A lot. Anytime, anywhere. After I graduated from high school in 1999, I went to college on a music scholarship, studied opera with professionals in the field, and starred in several shows. I don't sing onstage anymore, which makes me sad. If I ever should be so lucky as to be healthy again, I plan to rectify that situation.

-Despite the opera background, I ended up at Hood College, where I earned my BA in English. I published a bit while there, won some writing honors, and was then accepted to Johns Hopkins to study writing and English. I chose to leave Hopkins, however, once I became ill (yes, something at which I keep hinting; more on that later). I miss my classes at Hopkins a great deal. I've always been an academic, and the desire for knowledge, especially in an educational setting, has always run deeply through my veins.

-Speaking of writing, here are my current writing projects: "How to Ride a Bike" (my first complete novel, which I'm currently editing for publication); "The Keeper of the Key" (another novel); "Rotten Pears" (a short story which I'm revising for publication); "Stricken" (a rock opera); and poems - lots and lots of poems.

-I'm currently dealing with several health issues which kept me from working and/or going to grad school full time. I've recently been diagnosed with Unspecified SLE (Lupus) connective tissue disorder, polyarthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Syncopal Episodes (which cause me to pass out and experience seizure-like activity in my brain), Celiac, Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, Hashimoto's disease (chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis), Mitral Valve Prolapse (a heart murmur), and ovarian cysts, and am being studied and scanned for other issues, including PCOS, Vasculitis, and other types of heart arrhythmias. It's been a challenge, but I am fighting as best as I can. Some days are fine (fine meaning I can get out of bed and do things like laundry and go to the store); some, not so much. I'm trying to learn to take things day by day.

-I got married in 2008 to Toby, my amazingly loving and patient husband who'd been my boyfriend/fiance of 5 years. We're happy :) And we have two baby cats, Emmy and Ritty, who are our children. We'll have human kids one day, I suppose, but for now, things are fine the way they are.

-I am an ENFP, according to the MBTI. This basically means that I am creative, dramatic, fiercely loyal, passionate, easily let down, champion change, and hate having to follow a schedule or being boxed in by a routine. I'm also a Scorpio, so, you've been warned.

-I used to try to be "normal," but failed, and so I have given up on the quest for it. I have tried to be light and bubbly, but I'm really dark and deep. I have tried to keep normal hours, but 2 a.m. suits me just fine. I am an eclectic mixture of things, and you know? That's OK by me. I'm 27 (almost 28 - ugh). I'm not going to change too much more by this point :)
